Meet the Team

JHP was founded by Jim Hannigan and Steve Papineau, CFP ® in September 2017. They have been close colleagues for over 20 years. Jim and Steve met at FFP Wealth Management in 1999 servicing members at the Anoka Hennepin and Postal (Ideal) credit unions.  In 2003 Jim was offered a dual role position at Securian Financial Group, both as a independent financial advisor and retirement income advisor.   In 2007 the position of retirement income advisor was available, and Steve would join Jim at Securian where they worked together for over 13 years.  In their roles with Securian they were responsible for annuity client retention, retirement plan rollovers, and supporting the sales teams along with the advanced planning attorney.

In late 2017, after many months of strategic business planning, Jim and Steve formed JHP Financial Services, Inc. and joined Focus Financial as a strategic partner.
